Eco-Friendly Products

You shouldn’t have to choose between doing the right thing and getting products that actually work. At Bulk-Price, our eco-friendly products are built for businesses, restaurants, caterers, offices, schools, and households that are ready to move on from conventional plastic and wasteful single-use materials.

Every container, plate, storage bag, and liner in our range is made to hold up under heat, weight, and the grind of daily commercial use. In our collection are eco-friendly products that serve as effective and useful alternatives to plastic in each product category.

Why More Businesses and Families Are Choosing Sustainable Products

People notice more than most businesses expect. They notice what packaging their takeout arrives in. They notice whether it goes straight to the landfill or actually breaks down. Restaurants, event planners, food trucks, schools, offices, and home cooks have noticed that the old way isn’t good enough anymore, and they’re looking for something better.

Sustainable products are in demand because they are the solutions to actual problems. Compostable and biodegradable products help to decrease landfill waste in the long-term, promote cleaner disposal habits, and provide an avenue for businesses to cultivate a responsible brand image. Simultaneously, the modern disposable items that are eco-friendly are made to withstand the heat, moisture, grease, and heavy foods.

At Bulk-Price, this is the category we care most about. That’s why we stock premium compostable bags, durable food storage containers, biodegradable plates and bowls, and eco-friendly packaging solutions that work just as well for a catering operation as they do for a home kitchen.

Why Bagasse Became the Food Service Standard

Food service packaging has a credibility problem, and it’s not because people don’t care. It’s because cheap packaging fails in plain sight: lids that go soggy, paper plates that buckle the moment someone tries to carry them, containers that turn translucent under a scoop of hot rice. If your food is worth eating, the packaging should be too.

That’s where bagasse comes in. Made from sugarcane fibre, bagasse does what paper simply can’t: it holds up under heat, resists moisture, and stays structurally solid from kitchen to table. A bagasse clamshell won’t lose its shape in delivery, and it won’t go soft under a plate of curry.

It’s why food service operations that take their eco-friendly packaging seriously end up on sugarcane-based products, and stop searching.

Compostable Bags and Reusable Food Storage for Everyday Operations

The storage bag category is where a lot of recurring plastic waste originates. Sandwich bags, snack bags, and freezer bags are used once and discarded. The volume adds up fast in any household or food prep operation running five days a week.

Product Price Best For
Compostable Snack Bags — Zip-Lock, BPA-Free & Leak-Proof $9.99 – $18.99 Kids’ snacks, portioned dry foods
Compostable Sandwich Bags 100% — Zip-Lock, BPA-Free & Leak-Proof $9.99 – $18.99 Sandwiches, wraps, lunch prep

Compostable Trash Bags for Real Waste Handling

Most compostable trash bags fail at the same point: the sidewalls. Light-duty liners tear when pressure builds from inside, and that’s how plant-based bags got their bad reputation.

The bags in this collection are a different product entirely: heavy-duty, rated for 25–30 gallon loads, built with thicker sidewalls that hold up under real commercial weight. For restaurants, offices, and households that want their entire waste stream to be consistent, pairing compostable containers with compostable liners closes the loop properly.

Product Price Best For
Compostable Trash Bags 25-30 Gallon — Heavy-Duty, BPA-Free $19.99 – $54.99  Commercial kitchens, offices, home use
Drawstring Trash Bags 100% Compostable — Durable, BPA-Free $14.99 – $64.99  Kitchens, catering waste, food-service bins

Why Bulk Buying Works Better for Your Operations

Running a daily take-out service, catering service, or regular meal prep makes it very difficult to run out of sustainable products. It doesn’t exist when ordering in bulk, and it is an attractive cost alternative to ordering in smaller quantities.

Factor Unit Purchasing Bulk Purchasing Bulk Advantage
Cost Per Unit Higher per item Significantly lower Immediate savings per order
Order Frequency Frequent reorders Less frequent Less operational disruption
Packaging Waste More outer packaging Reduced per unit Supports zero-waste goals

FAQs

Are bagasse containers better than plastic for hot food?

Bagasse doesn’t leach chemicals under heat. It tolerates very high temperatures without warping or softening the plastic container; it is also a natural vent for moisture, which means that when fried or roasted foods are placed in it, they will remain crisp rather than soggy in the container.

Do compostable plates get soggy under heavy meals?

No, and this is the big difference between bagasse and paper. Paper will absorb moisture directly from the fibres, particularly under saucy or oily food. Unlike other fibers, bagasse is highly dense and fibrous, thus non-absorbent to water. It will keep its shape when eating a full meal.

Are compostable containers microwave-friendly?

Yes, bagasse containers can be put in the microwave. That’s a real plus over some of the paper-based ones, which have plastic coatings to prevent them from getting wet, and those plastic coatings make them unsafe for the microwave. Sugarcane fibre doesn’t require those coatings and will reheat without releasing anything into your food.

Are reusable food storage containers better than disposable alternatives?

It depends on how you’re using them. Reusable food storage containers make a lot of sense for households, meal prep, leftovers, and pantry storage, because the same container gets used repeatedly, which reduces waste and saves money over time. For commercial food service, catering, and delivery operations where containers go out the door with customers, compostable disposable options are the more practical choice.

Are compostable trash bags durable enough for commercial waste?

It depends entirely on the product. Lightweight compostable liners are designed for food scrap collection and low-volume waste; using them for general commercial refuse is asking them to fail. Heavy-duty compostable trash bags rated for 25–30 gallon loads are built to a different spec: thicker sidewalls, stronger seal geometry, and the structure to handle the compression that happens in a commercial waste bin. For commercial kitchens, office environments, and food service operations, the heavy-duty rated bags are the correct specification.
